The disease takes away the zeal of life. she is a perfect example of how disease torments continuously. she was admitted multiple times with bleeding from her orifices. she even had a rupture of ovarian cyst and hemoperitoneum. when she presented last time, she had an acute onset of shortness of breath and fever for 10 days. her fever had subsided while she was still short of breath. her covid 19 pcr was negative. initially, her chest x-ray and symptoms corroborated with the current covid 19 viral infection. Her brother was short of money and tried to take her away against medical advice. however, we managed to get free bed for her and convinced him to stay back in hospital. when she had very delayed improvement than expected in her oxygen requirement and respiration, we sent covid 19 PCR again and kept her on steroid. we repeated chest x-ray and it revealed miliary shadows suggestive...

यो कस्तो प्रतीक्षा ।   जीवन नै प्रतीक्षा रहेछ । सानो हुँदा ठूलो हुने प्रतीक्षा । सफलताको प्रतीक्षा  । दु:ख निवारणको प्रतीक्षा  । सुखको प्रतीक्षा । रातपछि बिहानीको प्रतीक्षा । बिहानपछि साँझको प्रतीक्षा । ड्युटीपछि ड्युटी सकिने प्रतीक्षा । सबैजना केही पर्खिरहेका हुन्छौं । जीवन पुरै एकोहोरो भएको छ । अचेल  समय भने कसैको मृत्युुको प्रतीक्षा गरेजस्तो आभास हुन्छ । चित्रगुप्तका दुतहरु अस्पतालमा पर्खिरहेका हुन्छन् होला । कति दुतहरु अचेल घरतिर पनि घुमिरहेका हुन्छन् । ती सबै प्राणवायु खिच्ने प्रतीक्षामा । पहिलेभन्दा काम बढेको छ होला तिनिहरुको ।  घर नै अस्पताल भएका छन् । पुरै परिवार अस्पतलमा हुनाले अस्पताल घरजस्ता हुन पुगेका छन् । स्वास्थ्यकर्मीको अभावले अस्पताल घरजस्तै हुन पुगेका छन् । फरक केवल अक्सिजन भएको बेड र एकाध सुइका औषधि ।  कोभिडमय अस्पतालमा सबैका फोक्सोमा आक्रमण गरेर कोभिड्ले उधुम मचाइरहेको छ । श्वास लिन एकाएक गार्हो हुँदै गर्दा सबैजना अक्सिजनको प्रतीक्षा गरिरहेका छन् । हावामा भएको अक्सिजनले नपुग्ने कस्ता दिन आए ?  शताब्दीदेखिको  प्रदुषित वाताव...

अन्सन किन बस्ने सर ?   नैतिकता मौन बसेको आज २२ दिन भयो । विवेकको ढोका बन्द भएको  १० वर्ष भयो । यस धर्तीमा रकमले न्याय र इमान बेचेको त अनन्त वर्ष भैसकेको छ । सबैको विवेकमा विर्को लागेको वेलामा कोहि एक जना सन्त  मोक्षको बाटो समातेकोमा तपाइँलाई पागल भन्ने नै  भए  । यो देशको पागल " गोविन्द के सि " । आफैले पाउनु त केही छैन तर भोकै बस्ने कस्तो रहर होला । रहर त शासकहरुले भन्ने शब्द हो । कस्तो त्याग होला !  मेडिकल शिक्षामा न्याय तथा राजनीतिले नगाजेको स्वच्छ  स्वास्थ्य क्षेत्रको माग राखेर एउटा डाक्टर भोकै बस्नुपर्ने त हैन । भोट दिएर कुर्सिमा पुगेकाले जनताको स्वास्थ्यलाई निशाना बनाएर अवाञ्छित व्यापार गर्ने ।  तर जनता त सधैं मौन रहने । किन अन्सन बस्नुभएको सर ?    आज तपाइँको छाती दुखेको छ । केवल जनताको सुखद भविष्यको लागि । दुरदराजमा कसैको छाती दुखेर उपचार गर्न ढिलो नहुने गरी सुनिस्चित होस् भनेर आज तपाईं आफ्नो छाती दुखाइरहनुभएको छ । कति भारी हुँदो हो त्यो बृद्धअवस्थाको छाती । मन कति भारी होला यी अबुझहरुको माझमा ! भोलि कसैले पीर नमान्नु कि उपचार ...

Observing symptom saves life    Let's travel through a story of a  68 year old man who came to OPD on a bright sunny day. It was the  time when the opd counter closes for the day. The old man requested the person in a ticket counter for a ticket. The employee said, " The counter has closed. Come tomorrow. " The grand pa didn't like his arrogant tone of voice. He was taking tablets for diabetes mellitus since many  years. That day he had persistent hiccups since the morning. Contrary to general belief of hiccups as a benign condition, it can be pathological at times. Did you know this ?  When I was heading towards my quarter,  I saw the old man sitting on a floor with hiccups. He saw me and sighed a great relief. He was trying to tell his story. But his hiccups didn't allow him to complete the sentence. Pampered diagnosis !  A young lady with dreams of bright future as a model had cough since six months. she had dry cough most of the time. Her throat would itch so severe that she would feel like scratching the inside of throat. The unpleasant sensation was a constant  trouble for her.
